Problem Gambling 101 (8.5 Hours)
This training touches on the basics of problem gambling including knowledge and education, public policy and social impact, and screening, assessment and diagnosis of compulsive gambling. This training also includes a section on Internet Gambling and Senior Gambling.
Internet Gambling
Participants will learn about gambling on the internet, internet and stock market gamblers, the social problems associated with internet gambling, risks of online gambling, cell phone gambling, and e-gaming. Included in thissection are the Four Basic Protocols for Responsible Interactive Gaming, Problem Gambling on the Internet its characteristics, prevalence, and policy implications.
Senior Gambling – Gambling in the Golden Years
Participants will gain knowledge and skills necessary to be able to identify the adverse effects of senior gambling and about services available to help those affected. In addition, participants will be able to identify how senior gambling affects society, communities, families and individuals. Participants will gain awareness of the implications of senior gambling and recognize the referral protocol in New York State.
